Nashville Country Christmas features Dolly Parton tribute artist

Augusta Amusements has made its name by bringing tribute artists to the Jabez Sanford Hardin Performing Arts Center, and although the Dec. 12 concert is billed as a Nashville Country Christmas, there is a tribute performer taking the stage.

“I’m a Dolly Parton impersonator,” said Natasha Neely, who helped write the show coming to Evans Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

The Nashville-based singer and a country line dance instructor has been performing as Dolly for more than 10 years, and she said she may break out into the country music queen at some point in the show.

“You never know who is coming to the stage,” she said.

Neely said she has been a Dolly Parton fan for many years and always gets positive responses from the audience when she dons a big blonde wig and sequined dress and sings one of Parton’s songs.

“Everyone loves Dolly,” said Neely.

And Neely said she’s excited about bringing the country Christmas event to Evans, which is one of 18 stops on the Christmas tour.

“This is a totally brand-new show,” she said. “It’s been great fun.”

The show will feature holiday melodies with a country twang, and Neely said it’s one country music fans will enjoy.

Tickets are $44.95 and are available here or by calling (706) 726-0366.
