Charmain Z. Brackett is the publisher of Augusta Good News. A graduate of Augusta University, she’s been a journalist for 35 years in Augusta, writing 32 of those years for The Augusta Chronicle. She won first place at the 2024 Georgia Press Association award in sport features. She’s also written for Augusta Magazine, the former Fort Gordon The Signal newspaper, where she won a second place at the Department of the Army level in the Keith L. Ware journalism competition and Augusta Family Magazine. She’s the author of 14 books including the 2015 Georgia Author of the Year Award for her children’s book Little Pearl’s Circus World.
