The Augusta Choral Society will present the final concert of its historic 75th anniversary season on Sunday, May 17.

“Bridges: 250 Years of Choral Music ~ Singing the American Promise” is the theme of the free performance will begin at 3 p.m. at at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 736 Greene St. Donations will benefit Child Enrichment, Inc.

As America celebrates its 250th anniversary as a nation, the chorus will highlight some of the
many and varied influences that have shaped choral music in this country. From Mozart to
Irving Berlin, selections will illustrate the bridges that connect classical European traditions with
distinctly American sounds and sentiments, including the hope and aspirations of Black
spirituals and the rhythm and energy of Latin America.

The chorus also will honor the men and women of the United States armed forces who for 250 years have given their lives to keep this country and the world safe.

Child Enrichment, Inc., through its Child Advocacy Center and Court-Appointed Special Advocates programs, provides a voice and a path forward for children who have experienced abuse or neglect in the CSRA.

“We are deeply grateful to the Augusta Choral Society for choosing Child Enrichment as the
beneficiary of this special performance,” said Kari Viola-Brooke, Executive Director of Child
Enrichment, Inc. “We cannot do this work alone, and it’s through partnerships like this that
we’re able to ensure children who have experienced abuse or neglect have access to the
advocacy, healing, and support they need to move forward safely and with hope.”

of volunteers and staff, offering a children-first approach and free-of-charge services and
resources for local children and families.
