Five Columbia County school teachers are in the running for county teacher of the year.
Anna Connolly, Blue Ridge Elementary School; Ashley Farmer, Brookwood Elementary School; Heather Cottingham, Grovetown Elementary School; Tayler Norwood, Stallings Island Middle School; and Brittany Hayes, Grovetown High School are the five finalist for this year’s honor, which will be announced during a celebration beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at the Columbia County Exhibition Center in Grovetown.
Each school’s Teacher of the Year, including the top five finalists, will be recognized and awarded a variety of gifts. The winning Teacher of the Year will go on to represent the Columbia County School District at the state level.
