The Augusta Players 2025-2026 season channels “girl power” and an Oct. 10 fundraising concert fits into that theme.
“Women of Rock and Soul” will highlight a century of female singers while raising money for the Augusta Players.
“I think that it’s super fun to be celebrating all these incredible female singers from over the past 100 years,” said Katie Reagan, one of about 11 women who will take part in the show which presents a wide range of musical styles and performers.
Produced by Ryan Abel, the concert, which will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Imperial Theatre, will feature two hours packed with the works of female artists including Aretha Franklin, Linda Ronstadt, Annie Lennox, Cher, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Amy Winehouse and Diana Ross. For tickets, go here.
Abel said he’s working with powerhouse performers and has matched the songs with the singing styles of these women for a fun-filled night of entertainment.

One special section of the show reunites Janika Ivey, Jewett Mukenge and Christina Shorter who performed in the Augusta Players production of “Dreamgirls” last year. The trio will sing hits of Diana Ross and the Supremes.
The Augusta Players found a new home at 712 Ellis St. in the fall of 2023. They completed renovations and officially moved into the space in May 2025. The concert proceeds will go toward the organization’s capital campaign.
The Players hold a special place in Reagan’s heart.
“They are home. They’ve been part of my life for two-thirds of it,” said Reagan, whose first Augusta Players’ performance was in “Gypsy” in 2001 when she was 13.
