Memorial Day is set aside to remember those who gave their lives in service to their county.

Despite Monday’s morning downpour, area residents took time to do just that at the wear blue: run to remember 5K run/walk which started at the Lake Olmstead Trailhead and followed the River Levee Trail.

Along the route were posts of photographs with the names of fallen service members, and runners announced the names of service members who they were running in honor of.
