Wayfair Outlet grand opening set for Jan. 9, 2025

Georgia’s first Wayfair Outlet is set to open Jan. 9, 2025, at the Augusta Exchange.

On Thursday, as shoppers headed to the center to scope out after-Christmas sales, the former location of Buy Buy Baby at 242 Robert C. Daniel Jr. Parkway underwent pressure washing ahead of the grand opening, which was announced on a sign outside the door.

The online retailer sells home furnishings as well as décor, appliances and other home goods, calling itself the “destination for all things home.”

The business started in the early 2000s when Niraj Shah and Steve Conine imagined “a world where online shopping would transform home furnishing. They laid the groundwork with CSN Stores, a collection of over 200 specialized sites offering a wide array of products from bar stools to bedroom furniture,” according to the Wayfair website.

In 2011, CSN became Wayfair and expanded its global reach.

 Wayfair opened its first outlet In May 2019 in Florence, Kentucky. Other outlets are located in Napierville, Illinois; Greensboro, North Carolina; Cincinnati, Ohio; Deer Park New York; and San Marcos, Texas.

 Wayfair reported $12 billion in net revenue in 2023.
