V. Rose to share stories and songs at FaithWalk Sept. 21

It’s been five years since V. Rose released a project, but that hasn’t been for lack of inspiration or  material.

“I’m always working on music,” said the Christian singer-songwriter who will be part of FaithWalk Saturday. “I set out in the past couple of years to produce my own music. I’m getting ready to release a lot of that.”

She’s slowly been rolling out songs and plans to release the full album in Spring 2025.

The California native moved to Atlanta about three years ago after spending a lot of time performing on the East Coast and finding an audience in the Bible Belt. Plus Atlanta has a thriving community of artists, she said.

Being a singer-songwriter has always been her goal. She started praying about it when she was 8, and by the time she was in her teens, she was already writing songs. Her first project was a self-titled album in 2011.

“Music has always been a way of self-expression for me,” she said.

She wants to encourage others through her music by sharing how her faith has brought her through. And she’s ready to get more music out.

“My last full album was in 2019, and I have a lot to say,” she said, adding she probably has enough material for 18 full projects.

The next step for V. Rose has been producing her own music.

During the pandemic, she began learning different aspects of production, knowing that the quality she wanted would take time to develop. She also formed her own music publishing company called Indie West Music Group.

 V. Rose said she’s had several young performers come to her to ask for advice on getting their music recorded. At first, she tried pairing them with other production companies, but then she felt that she was supposed to be the one helping them produce their music.

She’s drawing from what she’s learned to help them avoid pitfalls along the way.

“I want to help educate them on things that the music industry doesn’t want them to know,” she said.

There are things she’s learned through trial and error that she would’ve done differently had she been armed with the knowledge beforehand.

The singer is looking forward to Saturday. It’s been a while since she did an event, she said. She’ll share stories and songs and plans to interact with those attending taking a photo or two.

Faith Walk will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Columbia County Amphitheater behind the Columbia County Library. The event will feature Regal Jones, Incognita and Voices of Truth featuring Miles Mealing.

There will be food trucks and children’s activities.

The event is free, but a ticket is needed. Go here for tickets.
