News You Can Use: I-20 lane closures planned in Aiken County

COLUMBIA — The South Carolina Department of Transportation has lane closures planned at two separate stretches of I-20 in Aiken County.

Temporary, daytime lane closures on I-20 East and Westbound in Aiken County for road work beginning June 9. The closures will take place between mile marker 40 and mile marker 43, according to news release.

The closures will happen Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. until June 13. Traffic will maintained throughout the lane closures.

Also, there will be nighttime lane closures on I-20 East and Westbound in Aiken County for road work beginning June 10. The closures will take place between mile marker 3 and mile marker 5.

These closures are expected to last until July. Traffic will maintained throughout the lane closures.

SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention when driving through a work zone, the news release said.
