Right after Christmas, Augustans called for prayers on Facebook for their friend, John Meeks, who had a medical emergency and was in a local intensive care unit.

A few days later he was out of the hospital with a new lease on life and his friends calling him a “miracle.”

Andy Colbert of the Mason Jars said Meeks is someone who is always there to help other people, so Colbert didn’t hesitate when his friend needed his help. Colbert was there at the hospital and his band was among the multiple groups taking the stage at Southbound Smokehouse in North Augusta Friday.
