There will be a special program during halftime of Friday’s matchup between Lakeside and Effingham County.
Members of Lakeside High School’s boys golf team, who won their second 2026 GHSA 5A State Golf Championship in three years at the tournament May 18-19 at Jekyll Island, will receive their championship rings.
At this year’s championship, the team shot 285 on the first day and led after the first round by only three strokes. The second round of play saw the Panthers running away from the pack, shooting a team score of 271 to finish the event with score of 556 at 20-under par. Coffee County finished second with a two-day score of 574.
Six players shot a one-under 71 during the first round with Lakeside’s Hamilton Coleman winning the individual title. Three Panthers placed in the top four with Sam Rogers placing third and Bennett Wiggins finishing fourth.
