AIKEN – Volunteers with the SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare transformed dirty dogs into pampered pooches at the last Pup ‘N Suds Dog Wash event of the ear.

The fundraiser is held the last Saturday of the warmer months.

While that event is finished for the year, there are other events planned such as the Purrs and Pours from 2 to 5 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Aiken Taproom. Adopt a cat at that event with no fee.

Also the next Yappy Hour is set for 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 18 at the Albrecht Center with live music, raffle prizes, grilled burgers and hotdogs, a cash bar, open dog park and free pet adoption.
