TRENTON, S.C. – Festivities at a two-day Renaissance fair began Saturday with a variety of activities including axe throwing, a knighting ceremony and dancing and more at EastWind Castle, 527 Johnston Highway,

Children and the young-at-heart traveled back to Medieval times Saturday and Sunday as part of Dragon Faire, where they walked a knight’s path, learned archery, threw stars and participated in foam sword fights.

Members of the Society for Creative Anachronism demonstrated pottery, knitting and sewing from the era.

There were two knighting ceremonies.

Performers included the Royal Court Bellydancers and Cathy Benedetto.
