NORTH AUGUSTA – A North Augusta High School senior hopes to reconnect lost pets with their owners.
Evan Lester’s Eagle Scout project includes building two pet microchip stations that will be installed on Aug. 15 at the North Augusta Bark Park and at the Palmetto Trailhead near the DMV at Exit 5.
Sandy Zanko, a volunteer with Friends of North Augusta Animals, reached out to Gerry Simard, one of Lester’s leaders with Troop 7.
“Since I was looking for an Eagle Scout project at the time, he proposed the stations to me, and I loved the idea,” according to Evan.
On Aug. 1, Lester gathered with fellow troop members to construct the stations.
FONAA will be responsible for managing the stations.
