Columbia County has decided to move the Christmas in Columbia County event from Dec. 3, 2023 to Thursday, Nov. 30 at Evans Towne Center Park because of the threat of inclement weather.
“Columbia County Parks, Recreation, and Events has an exciting set of activities planned for this special evening, including a fantastic Sip n Shop event for holiday shopping,” according to a Nov. 28 news release from the county. “From 4 to 9 p.m., visitors can shop with local artisans and vendors, offering an array of unique creations perfect for gifts or personal indulgence.”
The 50-foot LED Christmas Tree will be lit at 6 p.m., Nov. 30.
“There will be no fireworks display this year. However, Santa Claus will be in attendance, spreading joy and adding an extra sprinkle of holiday magic to the evening’s festivities. Children and adults alike can interact with Santa Claus, sharing their wishes and capturing priceless memories,” the release continued.
The Christmas Parade is still scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday at this point.
