Still in need of school supplies before heading back to school?
Here are a few back-to-school giveaway events planned for July 31 and Aug. 1.
On Friday, the Grovetown Police Department will host its annual National Night Out Back-To-School Bash from 6 to 9 p.m. at Liberty Park.
Children will receive school supplies, and there will be entertainment, free food and an appearance by the Wellstar AirCare helicopter.
On Saturday, Erica’s Boutique at 1715 Central Ave. will have a back-to-school events with free haircuts and braids plus 75 backpacks will be given away.
Also on Saturday, Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church will have its annual event beginning at 10 a.m. at the church, 623 Crawford Ave.
“The event is designed to help local students begin the school year equipped with essential educational resources while strengthening relationships among families, community partners, and neighborhood residents…” according to a news release. “Supporting the educational success of our youth is an investment in the future of our community.”
