Augusta TrackTown Throwdown held June 7

Fleet Feet Augusta hosted its inaugural TrackTown Throwdown at the Academy of Richmond County track on Saturday, June 7.

The community track meet was open to all who registered and was free. Events included the 100-meter, 200-meter, 400-meter, 800-meter, and 4×100-meter and 4×400-meter relays.

“We really wanted to create an event that is not just for kids that are competing competitively for
school, but something that the whole community can enjoy,” said Seren Jacobs, general manager and training coordinator for Fleet Feet Augusta & North Augusta.

Around 50 people including children and adults came out to have some fun and test their ability at Saturday’s meet.

“We are hoping to make this an annual event and make it bigger and better every year and use
this year as a big learning curve we can improve on and a lot of fun,” Jacobs said.
