North Augusta’s Oktoberfest Mustard Crawl will be Sept. 19

One Oktoberfest ingredient will be highlighted on Saturday in downtown North Augusta.

Downtown North Augusta’s Oktoberfest Mustard Crawl will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with participating downtown merchants serving up “mustard-themed treats and deals, from classic pretzels with mustard and corndogs to mustard potato salad, tangy tastings, and even mustard-colored merchandise,” according to a news release from North Augusta Forward.

There will be Bavarian salted caramel doughnuts at Sheila’s Baking Co., German berry cobbler Italian Ice at Sweet Racie’s, Brats and beer at the Grove Gourmet Market and Gustard cookies at Cavalier’s Coffeehouse.

Gustard the Mustard is the event mascot.

Not only will there be food, but there will be live music and activities to highlight the versatile yellow condiment.

Dave Mercer will play tunes at Carolina Hills Sandwich + Sweet Shoppe; Fleet Feet North Augusta will sponsor a mustard run as runners search downtown for mustard packets and unlock discounts; GVO Studios invite people to take the stein balance challenge to see if they can hold a water-filled stein in a yoga pose for 30 seconds; and kids can make pretzel necklaces at Honey and the Hedge.

Take the trolley and receive a special Gustard sticker while supplies last.
