The Augusta men’s golf team started the season with a convincing 11 shot win in the Jaguar Fall Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club. The Jags bested High Point with Belmont coming in third. On the individual front, Pieter Rossouw Jr. and Chapman Barnett shared medalist honors at 9-under-par.
Pascal Gunther also shot 70 in the final round. Gunther had three birdies and a bogey and finished in eighth place.
Andries van der Vyver turned in the third team score of the day at 1-under-par. He had four birdies and three bogeys on the round. van der Vyver would finish fourth overall.
His twin brother Nicholas van der Vyver had the final team score of the day, also at 1-under-par. He had five birdies on the day.
Marcus Goosen had the non-counting team score with a 77.

The Augusta men’s golf team will next be in action at the Cincinnati Bearcat Invitational Sept. 15-16.
Rossouw and Barnett started the day tied for the lead and both shot 2-under-par on Tuesday. Barnett, playing as an individual, had a dramatic up and down for birdie on his final hole of the day while Rossouw birdied no. 18 to cap off his round.
