FAIRFIELD, Calif. – The Augusta men’s golf team shot 2-under-par Saturday at Green Valley Country Club, and finished third in the stroke play portion of the West Coast Conference Championship. The Jaguars will now play in match play which will be held on Sunday against No. 15 Pepperdine. San Diego State, who finished first, will take on Oregon State in the other semifinal.
Pieter Rossouw Jr. led Augusta on Saturday with a 67 that vaulted him into a tie for seventh place overall. Bo Blanchard II also finished in a tie for seventh with a final round 73.
Rossouw started the final round on fire with two birdies in his first four holes. He would make the turn at 2-under-par. On the back nine, he had two more birdies and an eagle along with a pair of bogeys for his final score.



Blanchard had two birdies and two bogeys on his first nine holes of the day and then added one more birdie on the back nine. That was offset by a bogey and double bogey as he signed for a 73 on the scorecard.
Josh Daniels had another solid day with a 1-under-par 70 on Saturday. He rolled home five birdies to go along with four bogeys.
Chapman Barnett had the final team score as he shot 72. Barnett’s scorecard was pretty clean with one birdie and two bogeys.
Stefan Jacobs had the noncounting score on the day with a 79.
Augusta and Pepperdine will now square off in match play Sunday morning, featuring five players for each team. The winner of that will play in the championship match in the afternoon. The winner of the conference championship gets the automatic birth into the NCAA championship.
