Tuesday’s Music Live opens 37th season Sept. 23

With a mix of returning favorites and artists making their first Augusta appearances, Tuesday’s Music Live will open its 2025-2026 season Tuesday, Sept. 23 at Saint Paul’s Church.

In its 37th season, the series features a mix of musicians performing 30-minute lunchtime concerts.

Catherine Lan and Tao Lin are Duo Beaux Arts.

When Keith Shafer first started the event, he had to research musicians and find performers to fill the slots; now, the series is sought out with multiple performers turned away annually for the limited dates.

“The secret of this is to only have 12 dates as opposed to doing it all year long,” he said.

Depending on the genre and performers, concerts can draw between 250 and 400 attendees.

“We look for a mix of genres of music from jazz to classical and everything in between,” he said.

Pianist Junwen Liang opens the series on Tuesday. Denis Petrunin and Anastasia Petrunina, also known as the ViMaDeAn Duo, will perform on Oct. 7;  D. Ray McClellan on clarinet and Daniel Bolshoy on guitar, Oct. 21; Francesca Anderegg on violin, Nov. 7; Duo Beaux Arts (Catherine Lan and Tao Lin),Nov. 18; The John S. Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School Chorale, Dec. 2; Arpeggione Duo, Jan. 6, 2026; The Brayatz Duo, Jan. 20; Savannah River Brassworks, Feb. 3;  Pianist, Liana Paniyeva, March 3; and the North Augusta High  School Chorus, March 17.

Shafer is excited to have two school groups as part of this year’s schedule.

The Davidson Chorale is a stellar group that has brought a holiday performance for several years and always draws a crowd; while the North Augusta chorus is making its Tuesday’s Music Live debut, he said.

All concerts begin at noon and are free.
