Augusta Technical College announced its fifth class of Den of Distinction inductees – 10 outstanding alumni who exemplify the spirit, skill and impact of technical education.

The Den of Distinction honors members of Cougar Nation who have achieved excellence in their professions and demonstrated a strong commitment to the values and vision of Augusta Tech, according to a Sept. 5 news release.

Earlier this year, nominations were reviewed by a dedicated selection committee. After a thorough evaluation process, ten deserving individuals were chosen for this prestigious recognition.

This year’s inductees are:

  • Triyoko Boatwright, Senior Manager, Talent Development, Textron Systems
  • Brent Butler, Clinical Manager Imaging, Piedmont McDuffie Hospital
  • Kimone Foster, Master Cosmetologist, Naturally U Haircare Salon
  • Cornell Harris, Athletics Program Manager for Augusta-Richmond County Recreation and Parks, City of Augusta, and Augusta United
  • Lushunda Marie Hurst, Physician Assistant, Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center
  • Stephanie Ivery, Owner/Operator, Ivery’s Enterprises
  • Tamara Y. Simmons, Contract Compliance Officer, DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office
  • John “Adam” Stroup, Program Manager, Higdon & Herring
  • Jessyca Utley, Quality Lab Supervisor, BASF
  • Dr. Vicki Vandervelde, Department Head/Instructor, Accounting, Augusta Technical College

The college will induct the honorees at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, on the Augusta Campus in the Jack B. Patrick Information Technology Center Auditorium with a semi-formal event (cocktail attire). Augusta Technical College proudly recognizes McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture and Piedmont Augusta/McDuffie as Platinum sponsors, with Textron Specialized Vehicles as a Gold sponsor.

This event is open to the public. Click here to purchase tickets for $20.
