North Augustans celebrate Third Thursday on April 17

NORTH AUGUSTA – Live music, an art exhibition’s reception, shopping and enjoying the spring weather – that was on the agenda for North Augusta’s Third Thursday on April 17.

The Upbeat Concert Series featured music by Alto Pablo in front of Cavalier’s Coffeehouse, Dave Mercer at Shoppe 3130, Jason Shepard at The Grove Gourmet and Lost Dog at the Block Party at West Avenue and West Pine Grove.

At the Arts and Heritage Center of North Augusta, 100 Georgia Ave., people viewed the Abstraction Contraction Exposition, which features abstract works by local artists including Lillie Morris and billy s. Morris’s painting ‘Full Bloom’ won Best of Show. The works will be on display through May 1.

There was also a ribbon cutting for the Downtown Flower Basket Project. There are now 41 baskets hung on light poles along Georgia, West, Jackson, Spring Grove, Pine Grove and Bluff avenues, according to the North Augusta Beautification Foundation.

The Flower Basket Project is a collaboration among several entities including The City of North Augusta, North Augusta Forward and the Beautification Foundation.
