Women’s Golf Day returns on June 9

Women’s Golf Day returns with golf instruction and special clinics by top women in the sport.

From 2 to 7:30 p.m., June 9, women of all skill levels from across the CSRA are invited to experience golf in an inclusive, welcoming environment, according to a news release from ClubCar Women’s Employee Network, one of the event sponsors.

“Club Car Women’s Employee Network is excited to partner with local organizations to celebrate Women’s Golf Day in Augusta,” said Lynthia Ross, Global Communications Leader at Club Car. “We’re proud to help grow the game and to support empowering women through golf.”

The Practice Club at Jones Creek will offer free lessons, open range time and opportunities to test out the facility’s Toptracer™ technology, simulating play on world-famous courses and hosting fun challenges like longest drive and closest to the pin.

Also, Oneda Castillo, Master Life LPGA Teaching Professional and Top 50 LPGA Instructor will present a clinic at 3 p.m. and Laura Coble, Georgia Golf Hall of Famer and former Augusta University Lady Jags Golf Coach, will present a clinic at 6 p.m.

Throughout the day, teaching professionals will be on hand to provide instruction and help women who are new to golf and those looking to sharpen their skills.

“We’re honored to host Augusta’s Women’s Golf Day celebration,” said Andrew Brooks, Owner of The Practice Club at Jones Creek. “Golf is a game for everyone, and we’re committed to creating a place where women feel welcome and confident learning and growing in the sport.”

Founded in 2016, Women’s Golf Day (WGD) is a global movement that empowers women and girls through golf. Held annually during the first week of June, WGD features thousands of events in over 80 countries, uniting women through shared experiences on and off the course.

Club Car Women’s Employee Network, along with The Practice Club at Jones Creek, iHeart Media Augusta and Cher’s Sisters Only Club are teaming up for the event.

The event is free and women are asked to register in advance  www.clubcar.com/womensgolf. Donations made during the event will benefit the Cher’s Sisters Only Club scholarship fund.
