Westside cruises to third state basketball title

MACON — With their eyes on their third consecutive state title, the Westside Patriots came out shooting, drawing first blood less than 30 seconds into their match with Toombs County March 7 and setting the pace for their 64-29 victory.

They dominated the court from the start putting up the first 10 points of the game and never looking back. They led 16-7 at the end of the first period and 31-14 at the half.

By the top of the fourth quarter, Westside had widened its margin to 30 with a score of 54-24.

Lavonta Ivery led the way with 14 points in the victory and Jarious Adkinson scored 11.
