Weather closings and delays for Feb. 2, 2026

Forecasts for the CSRA show the potential for extremely cold temperatures and hazardous, icy road conditions following the snow that fell on Saturday. Here’s a list of some closings or delays for Feb. 2, 2026.

Aiken County School District: eLearning day.

Aiken Technical College: Aiken Technical College will have a delayed start on Monday, Feb. 2. Campus operations and classes will resume at 1 p.m.

Augusta Animal Services is scheduled to open at 1:30 p.m. and close at 5 p.m.

Augusta, Georgia Government offices and services will operate on a delayed start, opening for business at 10 a.m.

Augusta Prep: All classes and scheduled activities are canceled.

Augusta Technical College: Augusta Technical College will close all campus locations on Monday, Feb. 2. The College will operate with a virtual learning and remote workday.

Augusta University: All in‑person classes and all university offices will shift to remote instruction and operations on Monday, Feb. 2, and all in-person activities will be canceled.

Burke County Schools: Closed

City of Aiken: delayed opening. All City public offices and facilities will open at 10 a.m. and close at the facility’s normal schedule time. Solid Waste routes will operate as normal. The City of Aiken Municipal Court will be closed.

City of North Augusta offices to include Courts, Parks & Recreation, and City Hall will have a late opening at 1 p.m. Monday in conjunction with the schedule from Aiken County Government. City Council meeting will still be held Monday evening. No trash collection on Monday.

Columbia County School District: Closed

Edgefield County School District: eLearning day; afterschool activities including athletics are cancelled.

Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art: Closed

Golden Harvest Food Bank’s Augusta and Aiken campuses will open at 11 a.m. The Master’s Table Community Kitchen will be open and serving as usual from 11: a.m. to noon. Volunteers should continue checking their email for any updates regarding shifts.

Lincoln County School System: Closed

McDuffie County School System: Closed

Nancy Carson Library, North Augusta: The library will open at 1 p.m.

The North Augusta Arts & Heritage Center will open at 1 p.m.

Paine College: Campus closed; students advised to check email and learning platforms

Richmond County School System: Closed; extracurricular activities cancelled

SAIL – School for Infused Learning – Closed.

Grovetown trash collection: Waste Management will not pick up trash on Monday.
