Three days of events are designed to encourage healing, awareness and community action.

Community leaders, advocates, faith organizations and residents will come together June 5–7 for Augusta’s Wear Orange Weekend, a three-day series dedicated to honoring victims of gun violence and promoting prevention efforts, according to a news release.

Hosted in partnership with Moms Demand Action, Georgia Shift, Community in Action and Grieving Families of
Youth Violence, the weekend will include a panel discussion, memorial gathering, and unity walk focused on
healing, prevention, and awareness.

The weekend begins Friday, June 5, from 6–8 p.m. with the Community Care Gun Violence Panel Discussion at
Broadway Baptist Church in Augusta. On Saturday, June 6, from 2–4 p.m., organizers will host the Together We Stand Angel Walk and Resource Tabling Event at Robert Howard Community Center in Hephzibah.

The weekend concludes Sunday, June 7, with a Day of Remembrance memorial service at Jordan Grove Baptist
