The University of South Carolina Aiken and Augusta University men’s basketball teams are heading to the upcoming NCAA Southeast Region Tournament; the NCAA announced Sunday.
The Pacers, who were the second seed at the Peach Belt Conference tournament, won the title Sunday after they defeated fourth-seeded USC Beaufort 92-76, according to the PBC website. The Pacers are now 23-8 on the season.
USC Aiken is the second seed in the upcoming tournament slated to play seventh-seeded Catawba while the Jags, with a record of 19-10, will meet third seed Lenoir-Rhyne in the opening round. Top-seeded Columbus State (26-4) will host the region tournament, according to augustajags.com.
Dates and times will be announced.
In the most recent DII Southeast Region Rankings released on March 2, the Pacers were ranked third with the Jaguars ranked fifth.
