HARLEM – Harlem’s Lady Bulldogs’ road toward their first-ever state soccer title ended Tuesday after the team fell 3-2 to Dawson County in the second round of the AAA Georgia High School Girls Soccer State Playoffs.

Harlem took an early 1-0 lead, but the Lady Bulldogs gave up three consecutive goals
before scoring late again in the second half. The Bulldogs’ late surge was not enough as the
clock hit zero, and Dawson County went home victorious.

The Lady Bulldogs were one of the top teams in the playoffs finishing with a perfect 14-0 region record; they were 17-3 overall.

Harlem girls’ soccer team continues to be competitive each season. The team also finished with 17
wins last season but fell in the second round. The Lady Bulldogs made their deepest run in the playoffs in
2017, losing in the Elite Eight.
