Ten seniors receive GAMES scholarhips

The Augusta Sports Council surprised 10 high school seniors from May 11-15 with GAMES scholarships.

Each of the 10 recipients will receive a $1,000 scholarship to support their educational journey, according to a news release.

With this year’s awards, the Augusta Sports Council achieved a milestone of more than $108,000 in college scholarships awarded to 98 deserving students since the program began in 2011.

“More than a financial achievement, this milestone represents years of investment in young leaders who excel in the classroom, compete with determination, and make a lasting difference through service to others. The GAMES Scholarship Program continues to recognize and empower student-athletes whose hard work, character, and leadership are shaping the future of the CSRA,” the release said..
