MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – John St. Germain III scored 27 points and led Augusta to an 89-79 win over Georgia College on Tuesday night. With the win, the Jaguars move to 19-8 overall and 13-4 in Peach Belt Conference play. The Bobcats are now 9-18 and 4-13 in conference action.

The Bobcats led early but the Jaguars went on a 9-0 run midway through the first half to take the lead and take control of the game. St. Germain had 14 points in the opening half and finished one point off his career high as the Jaguars ran out to a 22 point lead at one point.

Demitri Gardner continued his player of the year bid with 22 points and Maximillian Amadasun added 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds.

Augusta had a 16 point lead at the half, but the Bobcats did try to make things interesting in the closing minutes and got within eights points with under three minutes to play. Back-to-back baskets by Gardner and Amadasun put an end to any upset bid Georgia College had.

Kahalil Green had a game high 33 points to lead all scorers.

The Jaguars dominated most categories and hit 18 straight free throws before their first miss. For the game, they were 26 of 29 from the charity stripe. St. Germain was 10 of 11 while Gardner went a perfect seven for seven. AU also dominated in the rebounding category as they grabbed 37 boards to 28 for the Bobcats.

AU also forced 14 turnovers while only turning the ball over nine times.

Evan Joyner had seven points as nine different Jaguars got into the scoring column.

The Jags travel to USC Beaufort to finish the regular season. Tip time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
