SRP Federal Credit Union employees raise more than $45,000 for American Heart Association

NORTH AUGUSTA – An employee-led fundraising campaign brought in four times the initial goal.

Representatives of SRP Federal Credit Union presented the American Heart Association with a check for more than $45,000 — the result of a three-month campaign led by team members Charmaine Finch and Ieshia Bell.

Across SRP departments and branches, SRP team members contributed to the fundraiser by participating in activities including AHA’s annual Heart Walk, basket raffles, food truck fundraisers and Friday Jeans Day. The campaign raised $45,622.63, according to a news release.

“It is inspiring to see the result of our team members’ generosity, leadership, and commitment to uplifting our community,” said Grace Helms, Assistant Vice President of Marketing, Communications, and Community Development of SRP Federal Credit Union.

The donation will support the organization’s initiatives, including heart and brain research, improvements in medical care and  providing CPR training.

“This company-wide fundraising campaign for the American Heart Association truly exemplifies the credit union philosophy of ‘People Helping People.’ Good things are happening at SRP!” Helms said.
