Collection for the United Way of the CSRA’s annual Stuff the Bus school supply drive is underway.
The community-wide initiative aims to collect essential school supplies to ensure local children head back to the classroom prepared and ready to succeed, according to a news release.
Residents are encouraged to donate new school supplies at various designated collection events through mid-July. Please note that these are strictly collection events, not distribution sites.
Donations may be dropped off at any of the following community collection events until July 15.
SRP Park (The Hive Pro Shop), 187 Railroad Ave, North Augusta; SouthState Bank Locations: 3530 Wheeler Rd, Augusta, 627 Ronald Reagan Dr., Evans, 3111 Peach Orchard Rd, Augusta and 336 Georgia Ave Ste 4, North Augusta; The Peppy Poppy. 4272 Washington Rd #2, Evans; Boutique 1999, 4970 Steiner Way, Grovetown; CSCM Furniture and Décor, 211 Bobby Jones Expy, Suite D, Martinez; Putt-Putt Fun Center, 3763 Martinez Blvd, Augusta; Riverwatch Dental, 4214 Washington Road, Evans; WJBF NewsChannel 6. 9 a. .m to 5 p.m. Monday – Friday, 1336 Augusta West Parkway; Augusta GreenJackets Game at SRP Park, Sunday, July 12 at 2:05 p.m.’; The Kroc Center, 8 a.m. to noon, Friday, July 17, 1833 Broad St.; Walmart, 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, July 18, 1500 N. Liberty Street, Waynesboro.
Monetary donations are also accepted to help purchase supplies in bulk. Community members can simply visit www.uwcsra.org/stuffthebus to make a direct contribution.
Donors can contribute a wide variety of items. The most requested supplies for local students this year include #2 pencils, pens, colored pencils, markers, highlighters, crayons. erasers, glue sticks, kid-safe scissors, paper, index cards, folders or binders with tab dividers, composition or spiral notebooks, pencil pouches, backpacks, scientific calculators, wired earbuds, facial tissues and hand sanitizer.
