“Our Family Stores are more than just thrift stores; they are a critical component of our mission to combat homelessness in the Augusta area,” said Maj. Jonathan Raymer, area commander. “When the community shops, donates and volunteers at our Family Stores, they directly support the operations at The Center of Hope shelter. We are excited to expand our reach to the Martinez area and continue serving those in need.”

The new Family Store will be open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., beginning June 8. The store is now accepting donations.

The Salvation Army of Augusta’s mission is to serve human needs in Christ’s name without discrimination. The new store is a testament to that commitment, providing the community a way to contribute meaningfully to local charitable efforts, the release said.
