A day of support, resources and community connection is scheduled Jan. 5
Hosted in partnership with community organizations, including Medical Associates Plus, Augusta
Recreation and Parks Department, SWAT Foundation, Amerigroup, Toys for Tots, Stolkin Temple
No. 22, and M. Austin Jackson Attorney at Law, the Repack the Backpack event will begin at 11 a.m. at the Henry Brigham Community Center, 2463 Golden Camp Rd.
The free event is designed to give students a strong start as they return to school after the holiday break, according to a news release.

“Repack the Backpack is more than a school supply drive, it’s an investment in our children’s confidence, learning, and future,” said J.R. Richards, Chief Executive Officer at Medical Associates Plus. “When students walk into schools prepared, they walk in empowered. We’re proud to partner with our community to make sure every child has the tools they need to succeed.”
Children can bring their backpacks to the event so community partners can help restock them with fresh school supplies for the new semester. In addition to the free school supplies, there will be giveaways and
community resources.
