Pinillos to compete in NCAA women’s golf regional May 5-7

Augusta University’s Zoe Pinillos is seeded sixth at the NCAA Regional in Norman, Oklahoma.

The sophomore from Peru is among 396 golfers nationwide participating in the regionals which will be held May 5-7, according to a news release from Augusta University.

Each regional site will host 12 teams and six individuals. The top five teams and the low individual, not on a qualifying team, will then advance to the national championship which will be held May 16-21 in California.

Pinillos qualified for the regional with scores of 70-72-72, winning last week’s Southland Conference Championship in Texas, by two shots. For the year, she has a scoring average of 76.0 with four top 20 finishes – the SLC, Lady Bulldog Classic, The Southern and the Augusta Valspar Invitational.

She has also registered 13 rounds with a sub-75 score, the release said.
