Despite the misty rain Saturday, throngs of people lined up for the annual Augusta Half Marathon, 10K and 5K events.

About 1,400 participants were expected at the event which is a fundraiser for the Augusta Sports Council‘s G.A.M.E.S. Scholarship Fund awarded to graduating high school student athletes each year.

The Augusta Half, 10K & 5K courses are USA Track & Field  certified and are qualifiers for the AJC Peachtree Road Race which will be held July 4.
