Nursing sorority hosts 15th Annual Heart Truth Seminar

Phi Chi Chapter, Incorporated of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated “Nursing Sorority”, hosted its 15th Annual Heart Truth Seminar on Feb. 7 at Good Shepherd Baptist Church.

There were 213 people who attended either in-person or virtually, according to a news release.

This seminar featured expert presentations from Dr. Monique Bethel, cardiologist, and Dr. Donna Adams-Pickett,  obstetrician/gynecologist, along with inspiring personal heart-related testimonies, including a heart transplant recipient. Also, a personal trainer gave tips on maintaining a healthy body.

Piedmont Augusta was a main sponsor, providing on-site health screenings. Five other vendors provided health resources and some vendors had clothing items

Phi Chi Chapter awarded a $2,000 nursing scholarship to Zi’Yier Rice, a senior nursing student at USC Aiken.
