New, expanded North Augusta YMCA on schedule for summer opening

With a projected opening of summer 2026, the new, expanded North Augusta Family YMCA at 406 E. Martintown Rd. is taking shape as the walls are going up and signage is being set in place.

The new facility will feature two indoor pickleball courts, a sauna, EGYM Smart Circuit, new, state-of-the-art fitness equipment, a dedicated massage therapy room and micro-market featuring healthy snacks and beverages, according to a news release from the YMCA.

“In just a few short months, these walls will hold far more than fitness equipment. They will echo with children’s laughter, bring neighbors together in moments of connection, and support individuals and families as they strengthen their spirit, mind, and body. The new North Augusta Family YMCA is being built for more—more space, more possibility, and more ways to help the community thrive,” the release said.

The new center “will double the footprint of the current facility, allowing the YMCA to grow alongside the rapidly expanding North Augusta and surrounding communities,” the release said.

The YMCA’s impact goes far beyond the gym floor.

“Programs like Cheryl’s Kitchen Food Program continue to meet critical community needs, ensuring families across the CSRA have access to nutritious food and support when they need it most,” the release said.

As a way to celebrate the new facility, the YMCA is offering members a special rate. Current members, and anyone who joins by Jan. 31, 2026, will keep their current membership rate through May 31, 2027.
