The S.T.O.P. Food Truck is offering a new program.
The Sustainable, Tasty, Outreach Project Mobile Farmers Market rolls into the South Augusta Farmers Market, 4104 Windsor Spring Rd., from 5 to 9 p.m. July 19 for its first stop.
The new initiative is designed to connect local farmers with new customers, reduce food waste and make farm-fresh produce available throughout the Augusta area, according to a news release.
S.T.O.P. will feature a selection of farm-fresh fruits, vegetables, meal-prepped items like meat and veggie kebabs, and convenient meal starters, the news release said.
“The S.T.O.P. is more than just a place to buy food; it’s a way to build community and ensure everyone has access to nutritious meals. We want our residents to feel connected to their food sources and to each other. This initiative is a testament to our commitment to health and wellness,” according to C. Joy Brown of the South Augusta Farmers Market.
The mobile farmers market will be at multiple locations over the next few weeks including Canterbury Farms from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., July 20; the Augusta Municipal Building, 535 Telfair St., from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, July 26, and 4103 Madeline Dr., from 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 3.
