Kroger plans a ribbon-cutting ceremony and community celebration at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025, to unveil the newly renovated River Commons store, located at 1284 Knox Ave., North Augusta.
The renovations represent a $1.9 million investment, according to a news release.
“At Kroger, our mission is to feed the human spirit. These renovations are more than cosmetic — they demonstrate our dedication to being a trusted grocer, retailer and healthcare provider for the communities we serve,” said Victor Smith, president of Kroger’s Atlanta Division. “From the shopping aisles to our partnerships in local schools, Kroger is proud to invest in North Augusta and support families with fresh food, quality products, great value and accessible services.”
The community will be greeted with an expanded floral kiosk and selections, as well as updated produce, bakery and deli departments. The renovations also include new check lanes and other interior and exterior infrastructure enhancements.
As part of the celebration, Kroger will honor its associates and community Partners in Education, which includes North Augusta Elementary School, North Augusta Middle School and North Augusta High School.

Kroger also remains committed to its Zero Hunger | Zero Waste partner, the Golden Harvest Food Bank, working together to end hunger and reduce food waste across the region. In keeping with Kroger’s Zero Hunger | Zero Waste commitment, the project achieved a 90% construction waste diversion rate, keeping materials out of landfills, the news release said.
“We are looking forward to celebrating with the community. Every day we open our doors and welcome our customers, whether they are shopping for everyday essentials at a lower cost or just looking for values that can make their lives healthier, easier, brighter and a bit lighter,” Smith said.
