NORTH AUGUSTA – After last week’s home loss against Lexington, the North Augusta YellowJackets charged to victory over the South Aiken Thoroughbreds 33-21 Sept. 6.
South Aiken scored first, but the Yellow Jackets evened it up on 57-yard Corey Tillman Jr. pass to Tolan Nabriat.
North Augusta scored two more times in the first half to take a 21-14 lead into halftime. The Jackets never relinquished the lead in the second half to post their first region victory.
North Augusta is 2-1 overall and will play at Strom Thurmond at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 13 while South Aiken drops to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the region. The Thoroughbreds will travel to Barnwell next week.
