In pictures: Strom Thurmond wins Upper State football title Nov. 28

JOHNSTON, S.C. – Friday’s Upper State battle in the Peach Fields wasn’t for the faint of heart with the game coming to the wire.

Fairfield-Central scored a touchdown in the final seconds of the game drawing to within two points of the Rebels at 15-13, but Strom Thurmond prevented the Griffins from converting the two-point play on the final snap of the game.

The Rebels will face Hampton County for the state title at 4 p.m. Dec. 6. at South Carolina State University 300 College Ave #300, Orangeburg.
