GROVETOWN – April is the Month of the Military Child, and a group of Girl Scouts celebrated with Purple Up Day on April 27 at Liberty Park.

The Patriot Guard Riders and Miss Fort Eisenhower USA joined in the festivities that included a parade, kickball game and face painting, according to Katina Horne, an event organizer.

One of the best parts of the day, she said, was children enjoying the event with no electronics.
