In pictures: Paying tribute to deputy killed in line of duty

People lined up along Davis Road near Thomas Poteet and Son Funeral Home to pay their respects to Columbia County Deputy Brandon Sikes, who was killed in the line of duty April 26.

The funeral procession left around 11:20 a.m. with law enforcement personnel from across the state of Georgia and across the Savannah River leading the route to the Columbia County Performing Arts Center where his service was held.

It took nearly 30 minutes for all the vehicles to exit the parking lot.
