The Army is celebrating its 250th anniversary June 14.

Fort Eisenhower’s celebration began Friday June 6 with an Army Heritage Month Program which included a historical uniform pageant, workforce recognition and guest speakers. Staff from around Fort Eisenhower presented information on their command’s history and lineage, according to a news release from Fort Eisenhower.

The installation’s anniversary celebration will continue an early morning 2.5-mile run on June 13, traversing command posts and barracks, sounding off with motivating Army cadences.  All services are represented in the celebration which ends with a cake-cutting ceremony honoring the youngest and oldest Soldier’s present, symbolizing the passing of history and tradition from senior NCOs to the youngest trainees.
