In pictures: Butler girls defeat North Augusta in hoops’ action Dec. 10

NORTH AUGUSTA – Butler High School’s girls continued their winning ways Tuesday as they defeated the North Augusta Yellow Jackets 47-41.

Both teams took to the court undefeated and came out fighting to preserve their perfect records.

The first quarter was a tight one with a 5-3 score at the end of the period. The YellowJackets put up 14 unanswered points in the second quarter to stretch their lead, but the Bulldogs weren’t deterred and began chipping away at the Jackets’ lead.

The YellowJackets were ahead by eight going into the fourth quarter, but the Bulldogs pulled ahead and took the victory.

Butler is now 7-0 while North Augusta falls to 3-1. The Bulldogs will host Grovetown on Dec. 17 at 6 p.m. while the Yellow Jackets will play at Gilbert Friday.
