In pictures: Augusta Haskins Award Invitational Day 1

The University of Georgia’s J.D. Culbreth’s leads the field at the annual Augusta Haskins Award Invitational presented by Valspar at Forest Hills Golf Club after two rounds of play Saturday, April 4.

Culbreth shot a 5-under in the first round and 7-under in the second round to finish the day at 12-under. Pepperdine’s Mahanth Chirravuri, who is ranked No. 6 in the nation, is in second at 10-under. There is a three way tie for third place with Gaven Lane of Oklahoma State University, Grant Doggett of University of Houston and Sihan Sandhu of the University of North Carolina.

There are 16 teams in this year’s field including eight ranked in the top 40 in the nation.

Augusta University’s Dean Wilken is tied for 15th at 6-under and Pieter Rossouw is tied for 22nd at 5-under.

In the final round, golfers will go off in groups of three on holes No. 1 and No. 10 and will start at 8:30 a.m. 

Admission is free and there will be a food truck located between holes No. 9 and No. 10.
