In pictures: Lexington edges North Augusta Aug. 30

NORTH AUGUSTA – Two missed points after proved costly as the North Augusta Yellow Jackets lost to the Lexington Wildcats 20-19 Friday in front of the home crowd.

The Wildcats drew first blood with a field goal, but the Jackets stung back with a touchdown in the second quarter, taking the lead of 7-3 into halftime.

The Wildcats would go on to score two more touchdowns and a field goal before the Jackets raged back scoring two touchdowns, but the missed conversions made the difference in the final score.

North Augusta will host South Aiken on Sept. 6. The Thoroughbreds lost to Lakeside Friday. Read Christopher Rickerson’s story on that game here.
