Holiday happenings scheduled for Evans Towne Center Park in November and December

November marks the beginning of the holiday season, and Columbia County Parks, Recreation, and Events announced several family-friendly events.

 From ice skating to parades and movie nights, Evans Towne Center Park has something for everyone, according to a Nov. 2 news release from the county.

“We’re beyond thrilled to announce these family-friendly events at Evans Towne Center Park,” said Janet Wheatley, Programs and Events Manager for Columbia County, in the news release. “The holiday season is all about spending time with loved ones, so we’re hoping to create unforgettable memories for all who attend.”

Evans on Ice kicks off on Nov. 9 and will be open until Jan. 15, 2024. Families can enjoy ice skating and holiday lights in the park from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Starting Nov.20, the holidays will brighten at Evans Towne Center Park as all the lights, except for the Christmas tree, will be turned on.

The tree lighting is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. Dec. 3 during the Christmas in Columbia County event which features a holiday market from 1 to 7 p.m., photos with Santa, food vendors, live music from 1 to 7 p.m. and ending with the tree lighting followed by fireworks. The parade, sponsored by the Columbia County Merchants Association, is scheduled for 3 p.m.  Dec. 3.

On Nov. 30, Sip n Shop will bring holiday shopping to Evans Town Center Park from 4 to 9 p.m.. Shop until you drop with local artisans and vendors before taking in the holiday lights and ice skating.

Last but certainly not least, Dec. 8 brings a movie night to Columbia County Amphitheater with a screening of The Polar Express at 6:30 p.m. with food vendors Toms Travelin Coffee & Black Lotus.
